OUR STORY
Every Great Story Starts Somewhere
Built on a love of books and the belief that extraordinary stories deserve to be discovered, Literal Publications is a home for independent voices, unforgettable characters, and readers searching for their next literary obsession.
WHO WE ARE
Independent by Nature. Passionate About Stories.
Literal Publications was built around a simple belief: independent authors deserve a place where their stories can thrive, and readers deserve more opportunities to discover them.As an independent publishing house, we bring together talented storytellers, distinctive books, and a shared love of literature. From dark fantasy and romance to psychological thrillers, horror, and beyond, our growing collection celebrates creativity without boundaries. But our passion doesn't stop at publishing. Through our independent bookstore, Novel Obsessions, we also champion self-published authors and small presses, helping connect readers with books they might not discover anywhere else.Because to us, publishing is about more than putting books on shelves. It's about the people who write them, the readers who love them, and the community that brings them together.
THE WOMAN BEHIND LITERAL PUBLICATIONS
Meet Tracy
The Mind Behind the Stories
Chemist by education, educator by profession, and storyteller at heart, Tracy Wright Hopkins is the founder and driving force behind Literal Publications.
A teacher, professor, wife, and mother, Tracy has built a life around curiosity, learning, and creativity. Her background in chemisty reflects a love of discovery, while her years in education have given her a deep appreciation for the power of ideas.
As the founder of Literal Publications, Tracy brings those passions together, creating a space where independent authors can share their voices and readers can discover extraordinary stories.
Her commitment to the literary community extends beyond publishing. As an early supporter of Inside Story, Tracy even helped inspire a feature designed to make book promotion easier for independent authors.
For Tracy, building Literal Publications is about more than publishing books. It's about championing creativity, opening doors for independent voices, and celebrating the stories that bring people together.
